Standard Installation

Throughout this website we have published from starting prices. This is to give you an idea of the installation costs before the OZEV grant has been deducted.

These prices are based on a ‘Standard Installation’ in order to make comparing the charge points easier.

Our standard installation is suitable for the majority of uk homes.

Also we have tried where possible to use the same criteria that other installers are using to help make it easier for you as a customer to decide which charge point best fits your budget.

Assumptions

The price we have given you for installing your charger is based on what we call “a standard installation”. We do this because we have not seen your property or electrical set up so have priced from the scenario as shown in the picture next to the information.

This is what we have assumed is in place at your property and allows for a “standard install” to take place. If anything is different you can provided the relevant information and with photos while completing our survey form. We can then advise you directly if there will be any increase to your install price.

  • Your existing electrical installation is up to the current BS7671 standards for electrical installations and does not require any upgrade work, ie. All the bonding is in place and the meter tails are suitable etc
  • Your electricity meter and service cut out are located next to your consumer unit with adequate working space around them.
  • Your installation has a 100A main incoming fuse.
  • Your consumer unit is a metal board with a spare non RCD way for which a 2 pole (single module) RCBO could be fitted and there is already an SPD ( surge Protection Device) fitted.
  • Your Wi-Fi network has a sufficiently strong enough signal to enable a good connection with the charger at your chosen position of fitment.

Whats included?

List of works

  • Fitting of your chosen chargepoint on a brick or plaster wall, or to another suitable permanent structure.
  • Up to 10 metres of cable, run and neatly clipped to the wall between the electricity supply meter / distribution board and the chargepoint.
  • We can fix the cable up to 1.8 metres (6 feet) above the ground. If fixing higher than this is unavoidable then we price this accordingly.
  • Routing of the cable through a drilled hole in a wall up to 500mm (20 inches) thick, if this is needed.
  • The fitting and testing of electrical connections.
  • Install in your existing consumer unit a 2 pole A type RCBO or single MCB.
  • Connect the charger to your Wi-Fi network and confirm functionality.
  • Carry out all the required BS7671 Electrical test and complete the appropriate certification.
  • Apply for any OZEV grants on your behalf.
